"UNCLE" ANGUS BUCHAN AT BRONYDD MAWR, BRECONSHIRE - SIGNS & WONDERS, DOMINIONISM AND COUNTERFEIT REVIVAL!

All over Wales, as in the world at large, a Satanic snare is being set. It is cunningly concealed in the "Christian" cultural undergrowth to catch the unwary, and its effectiveness is truly terrifying. It has a clinical precision, and its brutal simplicity is the key to its phenomenal success rate. It relies heavily on a dearth of discernment and lack of will to "try the spirits," the wanton neglect of an unswerving obedience to the Word of God coupled with the reckless abandonment of its absolute authority on all things, and perhaps above all the temporal and base desire of men to feed the flesh at the expense of the spirit's eternal need to build up treasures not on earth but in Heaven! The snare is an amalgam of "Signs & Wonders" and Word-Faith teaching, which forms one of the jaws, and a subtle blend of ecumenism and Dominionism (with its promise of a great End-Times revival) which forms the other.

In investigating the growth and dissemination of spiritual deception in Wales, I must confess that it came as a most unpleasant surprise to find that the great Falling Away is just as apparent in the rural, sparsely-populated hinterland as it is in the heavily populated cities, towns and Valleys of the industrial south. Farmers and fencers are just as likely to be the harnessers of heresy as factory workers and foundrymen. Satan is at work absolutely everywhere. Nowhere is exempt, no-one too far geographically removed from being a target of his evil attention and his covert intentions! After all, even in the earthly paradise of Eden, the silver-tongued serpent slithered his slimy way!

Bronydd Mawr. Rural  tranquillity and "another gospel."

Which leads me to focus here in this article on Bronydd Mawr, a farm just outside the village of Trecastle in Breconshire, and a well-publicized event it is hosting on 10th June, 2014, when Angus Buchan will be speaking to an anticipated gathering of 700 people. No mean feat for a location as remote as the above photograph shows it to be!

So just who exactly is Angus Buchan?

As the publicity blurb would have it:

"Angus Buchan is a tough, straightforward South African farmer of Scottish extraction, whose gentle but uncompromising faith has carried him through drought, financial crisis, and family tragedy. Called by God to preach the Gospel, he has found the Holy Spirit working through him in amazing miracles of provision, healing and changed lives."

There's a good chance you may not have heard of him until seeing his name here in this article, for he is not that well known in the UK. But he is HUGE in South Africa and has an immense fan-base there, where he is affectionately called "Uncle Angus!" His 'Mighty Men' conferences can attract up to 400,000, and his following has been cemented with a daily morning TV programme on 'TBN Africa', where he shares a broadcasting schedule with a veritable Who's Who of Word-Faith, "Prosperity gospel" preachers like Joel Osteen, TD Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Joseph Prince and Joyce Meyer. Truly, the 'TBN Africa' logo as reproduced below is most appropriate, for birds of a feather assuredly flock together! Mr. Buchan's appearance - indeed prominence - on TBN should speak volumes to any discerning believer as to where he stands in relation to the true and uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ!

True Believer's Nightmare, African style...

Angus Buchan essentially arrived on the "big time" Christian scene with the publication of his book 'Faith Like Potatoes,' which was then made into a film and can be purchased as a DVD.

His Wiki entry gives a neat snap-shot biography of the man:

"Angus Buchan was originally a Zambian maize and cattle farmer of Scottish descent who started farming in Zambia but was forced to sell everything and move to Greytown. KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa in 1976 due to political unrest in Zambia.
In 1980 he started the Shalom Ministries to preach in his local community. Over time he has become a full time evangelist while the farm is now being run mostly by both his sons.
In 1998 Angus wrote a book about his life, Faith Like Potatoes, the book was turned into a film of the same title in 2006. Angus Buchan's Ordinary People is a 2012 semi-biographical film that tells the story of the growth of Buchan's ministry from the 1970s to the present, and that of three fictional characters whose lives are changed after attending one of his conferences."

Did something jump out at you in what you just read? No? OK, if you missed it: "Angus Buchan's Ordinary People is a 2012 SEMI-biographical film that tells the story of the growth of Buchan's ministry from the 1970s to the present, and that of three FICTIONAL characters whose lives are changed after attending one of his conferences."

Does it not strike you as singularly odd that a film supposedly depicting a full 40 years of a man's amazing, miracle-filled ministry, should be using "FICTIONAL characters whose lives are changed" by the SCRIPTWRITER'S IMAGINATION - sorry, Buchan's ministry - rather than using REAL people's REAL stories? Let's say it as it is; the film is described as SEMI-biographical. In other words, it is only HALF the TRUTH, and hence HALF a LIE! The film makers bill it as being BASED on true events, just like the earlier Faith Like Potatoes film. In plain English, neither production is an HONEST story at all! It is fabricated ENTERTAINMENT

THIS IS FUNDAMENTALLY IMPORTANT! These films, which happily fuse fact with fantasy have had immeasurable influence in shooting "Uncle" Angus to super-stardom in the eyes of an adoring South African public, and are also giving him an increasingly global profile, as evidenced by his June 2014 tour of the British Isles which commences with his Bronydd Mawr appearance. It is both interesting and illuminating to perceive how well-loved this man is by the multitudes who flock to hear him, for did not Jesus Himself warn about what His TRUE disciples would face, as recorded in no less than 3 of the 4 Gospels:

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake."
(Luke 21:17; also Matthew 10:22 and Mark 13:13)

There's a glaring and most regrettable reason for a preacher being loved by all: he doesn't say it as it really is. He is a tickler of itching ears. He gives people what they WANT, and not what they NEED! He presents a God of personal gain, not a God of self-sacrifice.
Consider if you will this 2008 Buchan quote:

"God is looking for men, and for women, for boys and girls, that will change the world! The world! Waiting! All creation is waiting with expectation, on tiptoes, for the manifestation of the sons of God! That's you and me!"

This is pure, or more correctly impure, Dominionism, text book 'Latter Rain' heresy which proclaims the emergence of the "Manifest Sons of God" who will change the world by taking over ALL aspects of society and then hand over the Kingdom which THEY have won to the Lord - who will not return until this is done!

"Uncle" Angus has persistently claimed that revival is here right now, while Scripture affirms that the Last Days are characterized not by revival but by apostasy:

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition."
(2 Thessalonians 2:3)

The only kind of "revival" that is happening today is a counterfeit revival, emphatically not initiated by the HOLY Spirit but by the spirit of antichrist, Lucifer masquerading as an angel of light! And one of the aces up his sleeve is "healing," for he knows only too well that illness and pain can potentially cause a person to embrace anything, no matter how suspect it might be, in return for relief from physical suffering.

And "healing" plays a very big part in Buchan's crusades; indeed, it is fair to say that "Signs & Wonders" (of which "healing" is one such prime example) are an almost mandatory feature of an Angus Buchan campaign! For example, there was the heart-shaped cloud over the stadium meeting at Vanderbijlpark, SA, and at his 2012 meeting at Ein Gedi in Israel a storm was hailed as "a modern day miracle." Angus's self-posted YouTube video of this event is carefully edited and slickly presented. Below is featured a video showing the occasion in a very different light:

Did not Jesus declare that:

"An EVIL and ADULTEROUS generation seeketh after a SIGN: and there shall NO sign  be given to it..."
(Matthew 12:39)

Another short video clip here fully demonstrates Buchan's 's firm belief in the ecumenical, "Churches Together" concept of ditching doctrinal differences in the interests of "the common good" - in reality "the common bad!" To this man, anything goes!

The Scriptural position on such matters is very different:

"Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son."
(2 John v9)

But, touching upon the Word of God, Mr Buchan has very thoughtfully brought out his very own Bible - an abridged version, that is! It's called 'The Bible in 366 Days for Men of Faith.' Sorry ladies, but as that old Yorkie Bar advert used to say, it's not for girls! The Word according to Buchan is made an exclusively male preserve! His Bible selects "key verses" (obviously rejecting what he feels are "lesser" ones) in complete disobedience to the command that we are not  to take ANYTHING away! (Oh dear, is one of the omitted verses Revelation 22:19?) Is not EVERY single word and verse of Holy Writ God-breathed, and so of key importance to us? Not, apparently, to Mr. Buchan... Oh, and just in case the Holy Spirit is unavailable to guide us into all understanding, Mr. Buchan has kindly filled the possible gap by explaining the Scriptures to us himself! I wonder if his "key" verses include this one:

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."
(2 Peter 1:20)

THE MINISTRY OF ANGUS BUCHAN IS CONSISTENTLY CHARACTERIZED BY HYPE, HYPERBOLE, HALF-TRUTH AND HERO-WORSHIP. HE MADE HIS NAME BY PLANTING POTATOES, A MOVE THAT APPARENTLY HAD GOD'S BLESSING. PERHAPS THE FACT THAT HIS FARM NO LONGER PLANTS POTATOES SAYS IT ALL...

BEWARE! "UNCLE" ANGUS BUCHAN IS VERY FAR FROM BEING AS STRAIGHTFORWARD AS HIS PUBLICITY WOULD HAVE US BELIEVE!

"Er, well... actually I'm no longer a potato farmer..."
