RIVERCAMP 2015 - ELIM'S ACCORD WITH TORONTO & THE NEW APOSTOLIC REFORMATION - RIDING THE BABYLON EXPRESS!

"Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
(2 Timothy 4:2-4)

The refreshing waters of RIVERcamp!

INTRODUCTION

Every summer since 2002, the Metropolitan West Region of the Elim Pentecostal Church has organized the RIVERcamp festival. Sadly, 2015 will be no exception to this most lamentable annual testimony to Elim's appalling accord both with the Toronto Curse and the dire, rampant Dominionism of the New Apostolic Reformation.

For 6 days, from 26th. to 31st. August, the Lenchwood Christian Centre near Evesham in Worcestershire will once more host this great Laodicean extravaganza, where the elite of Elim will again take huge pleasure in injecting yet more poison into the bloodstream of the Body here in the UK. (It is to be noted that although held under the auspices of Elim, it is not a denominational event, but open to absolutely anyone who is so misguided as to attend).

Back in May, the RIVERcamp team held a (Mis)Leadership Conference with the star player on the field being none other than Bill Johnson, one of the most dangerous deceivers on the face of the planet. From gold dust and glory clouds to the ghoulish necromancy of grave-sucking, his Bethel Church in Redding, California, is the very epitome of everything that is wrong in what passes itself off as being the Church today. My report on this deplorable event can be found here:

http://watchman4wales.blogspot.co.uk/2015/04/rivercamp-leadership-conference-may.html

I repeat below a particular paragraph from that article, as it is relevant to all RIVERcamp events and the spirit of deep deception that underlies them:

The sad fact is that Elim has been on a slippery slope for many years now. Its dramatic downward spiral can be traced back at least as far as the so-called Toronto Blessing of the 1990s, in reality one of the most grievous curses ever to have been inflicted on the Faith. Instead of denouncing it as a thoroughly Satanic deception, Elim leaders like Colin Dye and Wynne Lewis wholeheartedly embraced and endorsed its demonic drunkenness, and effectively partnered with this alien spirit emanating from the pit of Hell! And it is this selfsame lying spirit which has continued to wreak havoc to this day, mutating and mushrooming along the way, manifesting itself through some of Charismania's choicest front-men, like Todd Bentley and his champion, the discernment-devoid, Dominionist and Restorationist, "anything goes" Mr. Bill Johnson. The damage done to genuine, Bible-based Christianity has been incalculable. And Elim, regrettably but undeniably, have been and continue to be complicit in fanning the flames of this "strange fire."

NOTE. Anyone who is unfamiliar with the Toronto Blessing-That's-Really-A-Terrible-Curse, or the utterly unBiblical theology and warped worldview of the New Apostolic Reformation, please refer to the links I've included at the foot of this article.

Elim's leadership team. You have nothing to smile about, gentlemen!

ELIM'S ELITE: A DESPERATE DEARTH OF DISCERNMENT

The leading lights of RIVERcamp are David Campbell and Kevin Peat, who significantly have both been members of Elim's National Leadership Team since before RIVERcamp was birthed, proving that the top brass of Elim have always been behind this festival right from its woeful inception. They have both been speakers at every RIVERcamp ever held.

Messrs. Campbell and Peat wield great power and influence in the Elim movement; the former is Regional Leader of both the Metropolitan East and the Metropolitan West Regions with around 130 churches under his charge, while the latter is Regional Leader in Scotland, the North West of England and North Wales. BOTH OF THESE MEN, DESPITE BEING LONG-TERM LEADERS OF A PENTECOSTAL DENOMINATION, HAVE CONSISTENTLY DEMONSTRATED A SHOCKING LACK OF WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT!

Why do I declare this? It's because it is evidenced by the long and wretched roll-call of Toronto and New Apostolic Reformation deceivers that they have proudly paraded at RIVERcamp events right from the very beginning! They have faithfully followed in the footsteps not of the Lord, but of fellow Elim (mis)leaders devoid of discernment and due care - and attention to Scripture! - like Colin Dye and Wynne Lewis of Kensington Temple infamy. Such men as these are hirelings and not true shepherds, not only dismally failing to protect the flock but actually warmly welcoming the slavering wolves into the fold to freely maul the sheep and feed upon the lambs.

Carefully consider this piece of hyper-Charismatic RIVERcamp hype:

"During the celebrations in the Main Pavilion, we take time to express our love and worship to God and are honored to behold His expression of miracles, signs and wonders. Joining with Christians from different streams from around the UK and Europe, various leaders teach and minister during the meetings, helping us to cultivate and sustain an open heaven here on earth."

The concept of an "open heaven" comes straight from the shamanistic belief system of the aforementioned Bill Johnson, a man up to his mystical eyeballs in deep occultism masquerading as contemporary "Christianity!" Similarly, the enticing reference to "miracles, signs and wonders" trumpets the Toronto manifestations of an alien spirit, with total disregard for the stark words of Jesus that it is a wicked and adulterous generation which seeks a sign! (Matthew 16:4)

What is actually being carefully cultivated and sustained by the "various leaders" at RIVERcamp is the demise of sound doctrine and righteous sobriety, and their relentless replacement with ear-tickling tripe and an experiential religiosity awash with drunken delusion!

The proof of this is easily found by examining a list of those men and women who have headlined at this event. It is a calamitous catalogue of front-line Toronto traffickers and New Apostolic Reformation, Latter Rain-dancing Dominionists!

SOME KEYNOTE SPEAKERS AT RIVERCAMP OVER THE YEARS:

JOHN & CAROL ARNOTT. Centre-stage players in the Toronto Curse, which began at their Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (now 'Catch The Fire'). Pals of Pope Francis.

BILL & MELINDA FISH. Big swimmers in the Toronto pool...

MARK STIBBE. Anglican clergyman and major UK Toronto merchant. Supporter of Todd Bentley. Falsely prophesied earthquakes in Britain. In his personal life, an adulterer.

SHARON STONE. New Apostolic Reformation "prophetess" - sits on C. Peter Wagner's Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders. Precious "Stone" of Steve Shultz's Elijah List.

TOMMY TENNEY. NAR "revivalist" who authored the heretical 'God-Chasers' book and was a central figure in the counterfeit Brownsville, Pensacola "revival" which was a Toronto clone. (Mentored Richard Taylor - see below).

CHE AHN. Noted "Apostle" of the New Apostolic Reformation. A main contender to take over the reins of the movement from C. Peter Wagner.

HEIDI BAKER. Intimately connected to the NAR and a major Toronto proponent.

SAM LARBIE. Elim pastor and great Toronto aficionado.

KEN GOTT. "Gott" the fire from Toronto and ran with it...

RICHARD TAYLOR. Leader of the sham "Welsh Outpouring" which was essentially a Toronto/Pensacola copycat - booked for 2014 but dropped from the line-up following his dismissal by Elim for sexual misconduct.

And just in case you were wondering, yes, Elim's main man since 2000, JOHN GLASS (their General Superintendent) is fully complicit in all this, appearing himself at RIVERcamp alongside the likes of Che Ahn and John & Carol Arnott. Enough said!

ELIM HAVE FIRMLY NAILED THEIR COLOURS TO THE MAST... OF A PIRATE SHIP!

ELIM = Embracing Lethal Illusory Madness!

"A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land;
The prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests bear rule by their means;
and my people love to have it so:
and what will ye do in the end thereof?"
(Jeremiah 5:30-31)

  1. Rarely have I read such hate filled words for organisations that achieve so much good and have been doing so for a very long time. I suppose you hold similar views on New Wine?

    1. There are none so blind as those who do not want to see!

There is no hate here, Brucester, only sad truth. The reality, not the illusion.

And yes, for your information, I do hold similar views on New Wine.

      In Jesus' Name,
      Rob.

As someone who was brought up in these circles mentioned in the above post and was also greatly involved in the same, I understand what you mean when you refer to the 'good' that they do. However any 'good' which is always superficial is a mask to the agenda that's being carried out. My own family are still heavily involved in New Wine and Alpha etc, but its only when you dig deep that you find the great errors. I am happy for anyone to have an alternative view to what I hold, but I ask that the same people do some research on the subject.

In the New Testament the Apostle Paul often caused a riot and not produced a fan club, but what he said was ALWAYS done in love. Likewise I have known Rob for some time, and before God almighty I can say with ALL my heart I know that Rob does not write what he does from a root of hatred. On the contrary it is from heart felt concern for people to first question what they have been told, and from there come into truth. I'm sure you believe what the scriptures say. Revelation speaks of the end time deception, and warns us to come out of her. If this is not the end time deception I don't know what is. The deception means that it will look like the real thing, but only when you dig deep do you find out what it really is.

    Every blessing

    1. Hi Andrew!

Thanks so much for this very balanced, thoughtful and personal reply to Brucester's comment.

Spiritual deception is such a subtle and seductive snare, and as you so rightly say, it's only when you dig deep that you find out what's actually hidden inside the Trojan horse... and it's only when you honestly face up to what you find that you can be released into all truth.

I am indeed indebted to you for all your support and encouragement, my good friend!
Every blessing to you, in Jesus' mighty Name,
      Rob.

  3. Hi Rob

I am in much agreement with a lot you write on your blogs but I have to confess that I have been to every River Camp except the first one!

I live locally to Lenchwood and personally know the people who run the Center.

I have witnessed a lot of weird stuff over years but have also heard some great teaching. You may feel Kevin Peat is a fraud but he is a very likable man and has a lovely testimony of how the Lord Jesus has changed his life having been very timid and bullied as a child.

Rabid Campbell is also a great guy and has a great heart to see lives changed.

We have taken our kids there for last 10 years and now in their teens still attend church even though there are very few other young folk.

I will fully admit there were some really wilde times there when John and Carol Arrnot came which I had great questions over. The last time Heidi Baker came she was like a damp squid. No one really responded to her and our kids thought she was weird.

This year Sharon Stone came but very washy washy with her words and Shawn Boltz was entertaining but from feedback from folk I spoke to they thought both were a bit odd.

So I do admit its a very mixed bag. Its fun camping up there as we know a lot of folk. The music is great and our kids love it.

I do share your concern Rob over what is allowed.

We are living in difficult days. There is so much mixture but you can go to very conservative evangelical camps and it can be so legalistic its crushing. (I know as was brought up in the very Exclusive Brethren).

Eric Johnson from Bethal was there last year. Nice guy but fail to understand why he is still 80% deaf! With all that anointing at Bethal and his dad an apostal I should have thought he would have been healed by now!

I think you may be a bit hard on David Campbell and Kevin Peat. We have got to know them over the years. Kevin Peat had a serious car accident last year and he was able to testify just how God brought him through. David Campbell had cancer about 3 or 4 years ago and again he testified how he faced death but treatment worked and he was healed.

They are great men but I guess you would say deceived.

Have booked in again this year so will see how it goes but have to admit things have calmed down a lot. This year saw no laughing or people falling down or weird manifestations. I think people are growing up moving away from that stuff.

So Rob please bear with me. You may think me a heretic but I am very aware of the false stuff but I think if we are still able to get our 3 teenagers regular to church on Sundays then we must be doing something right!

    Every blessing

    1. Hi Martyn, and many thanks for your detailed and balanced observations about Rivercamp.

I have nothing personal against the likes of Mr. Campbell or Mr. Peat; I've never met either of them, so base my own observations here simply on their role in countenancing and in turn promoting deep deception. They may well be very likable and sincere men, but as I was much moved to observe in my most recent article, sincerity is a powerful vehicle for the successful delivery of deception by those who are themselves deceived. (Which I certainly believe both these men are). It amazes and saddens me that Pentecostal leaders, with their emphasis on the gifts of the Spirit, can be so incredibly lacking when it comes to wisdom and discernment.

My great concern with things like Rivercamp is that truth and error appear on the same stage indiscriminately. While people like yourself who are mature in the Faith and blessed with discernment can separate what is right from what is wrong, the nature of the festival means that it attracts many young and easily influenced young people who are not equipped to make such a distinction. They should not be subjected to such a cocktail, as untold spiritual damage and corruption could well result. This is why I'm "hard" on people like Messrs. Campbell and Peat, for they mix purity with poison, and as leaders are culpable for their actions.

I most certainly don't in any way think you a heretic for saying what you have here; it's good to know that you are well aware of what is folly, and can guide your own kids accordingly. My grievance with Rivercamp and its Elim leadership is that they have welcomed in false spirits, rather than being true and faithful shepherds who should be vigilant in protecting the flock from such things.

      With best wishes in Him,
      Rob.

  4. Thanks Rob

I take your point on the mixture. Its true that stuff is allowed or rather different speakers are allowed. Thankful Heidi Baker and the Arnots seem to have run their course there.

Dave Campbell admitted he could not get Bill Johnson to come. Perhaps he didn't like camping! Just as well.

Its really difficult to bring up 3 teenagers and take them to good sound stuff without it being stuffy and legal. Kids see through religious stuff and at Rivercamp there is a great youth work andcour kids get something sound and they enjoy the fellowship of other youth.

But it is difficult and am aware of the mixture.

    Bless you

    Martyn

    1. It really is a tough call, my friend!

With 3 kids of my own, the youngest now 20, I know only too well just how difficult it can be! The whole face of Christianity has changed almost completely out of recognition since I was saved at 18, over 40 years ago now, such has been the absolute avalanche of deception which has
occurred since I was myself fresh to the Faith in the 70s.

We are at a point in time when every single thing has to be tested; there is no room for parental complacency. Satan knows well how to seduce the young, and he's doing it on a vast scale now, with Jesus Culture and Hillsong as prime examples of how he's deceiving them into receiving and believing in a false Jesus, a false gospel and a false spirit. He still has power to appear as an angel of light, as do his ministers. Let us all do our utmost to protect the young from the harm that our Enemy would do them, our reliance being upon the strength and grace of our mighty Lord!

With very best wishes in Him,
      Rob.
