THE PFIZER COVID-19 VACCINE ROLL-OUT IN THE UK: THE DOUBTS, THE DICHOTOMIES, THE DANGERS AND THE DECEIT!

PREAMBLE

The more I've researched the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine, the more apparent it has become to me how heavily suspect it is, and how incredibly irresponsible the Government has been in allowing its roll-out across the UK. The propaganda being endlessly pumped out just proves how undemocratic our society has so rapidly become, where only the official narrative is to be told, and any challenge to it is to be crushed beneath a heel of cold steel! Tyranny has triumphed over freedom, and the vaccine, not the Son of God, is being everywhere hailed as our saviour! This situation is just too dreadful for words to adequately describe.

I'm very aware of the inherent risk of being censored, or even completely shut down, by publicly asking questions that "the-powers-that-be" do NOT want to be asked, and sharing information that "they" do NOT want to be shared. But the bottom line for me is, as it ever must be, what is the Lord's will? I conclude that in this, as indeed in all things, His will is that the truth be told. And if the watchman sees the danger, but gives not the warning, he is accountable before God for his wretched silence.

THE COMPANY

Hype and hyperbole have characterized the production and distribution of this warp-speed vaccine; what information has been made available to the general public has been selective to say the least. Have people been made at all aware that Pfizer has an absolutely abysmal track record in its operations, which has resulted in them shelling out billions of dollars in successful lawsuits lodged against them? It really has quite some history of being utterly corrupt and unscrupulous in its dealings. News to you, huh? Consider if you will this incredible indictment of this "Big Pharma" company: "Pfizer set a record for the largest health care fraud settlement and the largest criminal fine of any kind with $2.3 billion in 2009." (Source: https://www.drugwatch.com/manufacturers/pfizer/ - please refer to this site for very disturbing details about Pfizer, including the 1996 scandal, when the company conducted unauthorized trials of its Trovan drug on 200 Nigerian children, resulting in 11 deaths and many more being disabled).

In 2012, the 'Financial Times' reported that Pfizer was fined $60 million by US regulators for the decade-long bribery of doctors and government officials in Eastern Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Since the year 2000, Pfizer has chalked up a total of no less than $4,747,652,947 in penalties, with no less than 80 records of offences that they have brazenly committed! So, if you might have been pondering the glaring dichotomy of the Government on the one hand gushing about how absolutely safe Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine is, when on the other, as 'The Independent' reported, it has granted the company legal indemnity from being sued by ANYONE in the event of problems - when we are assured that there are none! - well, now you know why Pfizer will have insisted on this in its UK purchase contract! You'll also now know why Pfizer UK refused to explain, saying, "We're not actually disclosing any of the details around any of the aspects of that agreement and specifically around the liability clauses." Still trust this company enough to roll up your sleeve? (Source: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/coronavirus-pfizer-vaccine-legal-indemnity-safety-ministers-b1765124.html) 

THE PRODUCT

But there's more to be considered. Much more than just the extremely shady nature of the company that manufactures it. (Alongside BioNTech). What about the vaccine in itself? Is it really as safe as we're assured that it is?

First observation to be made in this respect is so obvious that it really shouldn't need to be made, other than for the fact that it's often the patently obvious that somehow eludes: 

EVEN IF - AND THAT'S A BIG IF - THE VACCINE INDEED PROVES TO BE SAFE IN THE SHORT TERM, ABSOLUTELY NO-ONE CAN KNOW WHAT THE POSSIBLE LONG-TERM EFFECTS MIGHT PROVE TO BE. NO LAUNCH INTO THE UNKNOWN CAN POSSIBLY BE GUARANTEED TO BE SAFE; IT IS IN FACT FRAUGHT WITH DANGER!

THIS UNDERLYING, VERY VALID CONCERN IS ONLY MADE ALL THE MORE SO BY THE FACT THAT THE PFIZER/BIONTECH PRODUCT UTILIZES GENETICALLY-BASED mRNA TECHNOLOGY; IT IS A TYPE OF VACCINE WHICH HAS NEVER HITHERTO BEEN AUTHORIZED FOR USE IN HUMANS! YET AFTER ESSENTIALLY JUST SMALL-SCALE TRIALS, IT IS NOW BEING INJECTED INTO THE BODIES OF MILLIONS.

With this firmly in mind, let's turn to something reported, not as it happens in the British but in the German English language news. The former head of respiratory research at Pfizer, Dr. Michael Yeadon, and the lung specialist and ex-head of Germany's public health department, Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, have filed an application to the European Medicine Agency for the immediate suspension of all SARS CoV 2 vaccine studies, particularly those conducted by BioNTech/Pfizer. Their reasons, which I consider to be of such critical importance as to reproduce them here, focus upon:

1) The formation of so-called "non-neutralizing antibodies" can lead to an exaggerated immune reaction, especially when the test person is confronted with the real, "wild" virus after vaccination. This so-called antibody-dependent amplification, ADE, has long been known from experiments with corona vaccines in cats, for example. In the course of these studies all cats that initially tolerated the vaccination well died after catching the wild virus.

2) The vaccinations are expected to produce antibodies against spike proteins of SARS-CoV-2. However, spike proteins also contain syncytin-homologous proteins, which are essential for the formation of the placenta in mammals such as humans. It must be absolutely ruled out that a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 could trigger an immune reaction against syncytin-1, as otherwise infertility of indefinite duration could result in vaccinated women.

3) The mRNA vaccines from BioNTech/Pfizer contain polyethylene glycol (PEG). 70% of people develop antibodies against this substance - this means that many people can develop allergic, potentially fatal reactions to the vaccination.

4) The much too short duration of the study does not allow a realistic estimation of the late effects. As in the narcolepsy cases after the swine flu vaccination, millions of healthy people would be exposed to an unacceptable risk if an emergency approval were to be granted and the possibility of observing the late effects of the vaccination were to follow. (When it might be all too late! - Rob). Nevertheless, BioNTech/Pfizer apparently submitted an application for emergency approval on December 1, 2020. (Of course, in its wisdom (!) the UK Government has in the meantime given its own emergency approval! - Rob). In respect of point 2 above, I want to tie this in with an "anomaly" in the guidelines prepared for the mass vaccination programme. There are actually two different sets of information on the Pfizer vaccine issued, one for healthcare professionals, and one for recipients of said vaccine. In the one for doctors, etc., is found the bald statement, "It is unknown whether COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine BNT162b2 has an impact on fertility." (Source: https://healthimpactnews.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/12/Information_for_healthcare_professionals.pdf). But in the guidelines for recipients, this statement is noticeably OMITTED! How so, one must ask? Why are young women not to be informed that being vaccinated carries the risk of them not being able to have children? COVI-PASSES... OR COVI-FAILS?

Quite apart from the all too real concerns surrounding both the company and the product, there is of course the question of whether "vaccine passports" will be issued, with all that that would entail for our cherished freedoms. And here we find another stark dichotomy from Westminster. We have James Cleverly saying a loud "Yay!" while from Michael Gove comes an equally loud "Nay!" CONCLUSION

So who and what are we to believe? Who and what can we trust in? In this whole grim situation, there are more questions than answers; there is no black and white but only varying shades of grey. Openness has had a closure notice slapped on it, and Honesty together with his partner Integrity would now seem to be on vacation in sunnier climes.

DOUBTS, DICHOTOMIES, DANGERS AND DECEIT ARE THE THINGS THAT I FOR ONE KEEP SEEING. THE MEDIA AND THE POLITICIANS PROCLAIM LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. I FEAR THAT IT'S JUST THE OMINOUS HEADLIGHT OF AN APPROACHING THOUSAND-TON EXPRESS TRAIN!

THE FOURSQUARE CITY: THE ULTIMATE ABODE OF THE SAINTS!

"And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth:

and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs.

The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal."

My last article was needfully focused upon where this fallen world is so fast and so frighteningly heading. (See https://watchman4wales.blogspot.com/2020/10/the-beginning-of-sorrows-prelude-to.html). My desire here is to show the unbelievably beautiful other side of the coin, so to speak: the incredible destination of all those who have sincerely accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, and follow Him faithfully in spirit and in truth. 

Once or twice, I've felt it relevant to reproduce here on this blog, articles that were first compiled for and published on my original website; I feel it is most opportune for one more such piece to re-appear here now. In undertaking a study on the subject of the New Jerusalem, some amazing things were impressed upon my understanding, if I might put it that way, things that I hope by sharing here may bless you my friends with as much of a sense of great hope and certainty as they do me, amidst a time of great and global foreboding as to what the future holds for all of humankind.

A HOUSE OF MANY MANSIONS

"In my Father's house are many mansions:

if it were not so, I would have told you.

I go to prepare a place for you."

(The words of Jesus Christ, as recorded in John 14:2)

So what exactly is this "house" our Lord referred to, where a place is even now being prepared by Him for His people? Can one structure alone accommodate the many millions of individuals who together constitute the body and bride of Christ?

A wonderful confirmation of the validity of Jesus's statement comes in one particular verse in the Book of Revelation, a verse that when closely studied affirms not just the truly awesome capacity of this "house": in examining its basic geometric design, an astonishing and fundamental truth literally unfolds before our eyes!

THE NEW JERUSALEM

The Apostle John, "carried away in the spirit" while on Patmos, witnessed "the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." (Revelation 21:2). He made various observations concerning this structure; for the purposes of the study in hand, one key verse emerges:

"And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth:

and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs.

The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal."

(Revelation 21:16)

This, then, is the "Father's house" which Jesus was referring to in His discourse with the disciples. The two particular features outlined here to take note of are:

1) It is in the form of a perfect cube.

2) Its dimensions are:

    

    12,000 furlongs by 12,000 furlongs by 12,000 furlongs.

Let us deal with the second observation first! Out with the measuring tape!

12,000 furlongs translates into 1,500 miles, and the ground-plan of the New Jerusalem accordingly works out as covering an amazing TWO AND A QUARTER MILLION SQUARE MILES!

But having said that, the city is also 1.500 miles high!

This means that its cubic capacity works out at the staggering figure of:

3.375 billion cubic miles!!!

Consider. If every single inhabitant was to be allocated half a cubic mile each (how does that compare with your current house and garden?), then the New Jerusalem would house on this basis some 27 billion persons!

Given a quarter of a cubic mile each (more than ample for a personal mansion in its own parkland, wouldn't you say?), then the New Jerusalem would accommodate an almost unimaginable 216 billion people!

No-one knows exactly how many humans have ever lived on this planet. Estimates of earth's all-time population range from a low of around 45 billion to a high of around 125 billion, with many of the sounder estimates coming out at between 90 and 110 billion. A calculation based on 2002 figures arrived at a figure of 106 billion.

So even at a mere (!) quarter of a cubic mile each, the New Jerusalem would house every person who has ever existed twice over!

It can thus be clearly demonstrated that God has fully allowed for EVERYONE to inhabit His "house," this quite incredible foursquare city. We have the free will to decide whether or not we will live there ourselves; the tragic fact is that the many millions who reject God's plan of redemption through the Cross of Jesus Christ will never get to see "the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9). The Lord offers you one of His "many mansions" - no mortgage required! The decision is yours.

At this point it would be opportune to return to our first observation: the fact that the New Jerusalem is in the form of a perfect cube!

UNFOLDING THE FANTASTIC

To grasp the full significance of the actual shape of the New Jerusalem, it might be helpful to scale it down somewhat and view it as a simple cardboard box...

First, take your box... 

 

 Then, lift up the lid... 

  Pull down the front...

 Drop down the base...

Finally, fold back both sides, to reveal...

The Cross!

In this very simple way, it can be vividly illustrated that the New Jerusalem is the ultimate abode of all those who are...

COMPLETELY COVERED BY THE CROSS!

"The house of the righteous shall stand."

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again,

and receive you unto myself;

that where I am, there ye may be also."

(John 14:3)

THE BEGINNING OF SORROWS - PRELUDE TO THE TRIBULATION!

"...All these are the beginning of sorrows...

then shall be great tribulation,

such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time,

no, nor ever shall be."

(Matthew 24:8 and 21)

When Jesus's disciples pointedly enquired of Him concerning the End Times and His return, He reeled off a number of things to look out for - chief of which was deception, note well! - which He categorized as "the beginning of sorrows." This would be the prelude to a period of "great tribulation," the fulfillment of the 70th. year of Daniel's prophetic time-line (see Daniel 9:24-27) which the Jewish people know as "the time of Jacob's trouble." (Jeremiah 30:7).

The Olivet Discourse, as it is known, speaks forcibly into the world situation today; it is critically important to figuratively wake up and smell the coffee, and understand of a certainty that "the beginning of sorrows" is no longer future tense, but present! What follows is an acronym I've been much moved to compile, from the Scriptures and from personal observation to emphasize that this is so. It is a list - a very far from exhaustive one! - to describe what is being witnessed everywhere right now, as the whole world is relentlessly prepped for the arrival and rule of Antichrist. 

Tyranny; 

Hedonism;

Economic collapse;

Biblical Christianity butchered;

Earthquakes in divers places;

Genocide of the unborn;

Incarceration of freedom itself;

Negation of normality;

Nullification of individual choice;

Idealizing of immorality;

Nation rising against nation;         

Good rendered bad and bad rendered good;

Overturning of human rights;

Famines and pestilences;

Same sex marriage;

Official narrative being cunningly scripted fiction;

Repression of dissension;

Rioting and lawlessness;

Ousting of the old world order;

Wars and rumours of wars;

Subjugation of the masses.

Yes, the world we live in now is a real shocker. Covid-19 is but the final nail to be hammered into the coffin of the lives we once led and the liberties we once knew and took too much for granted. The above acronym represents just a fraction of the great evils that are being seen and experienced globally. Nothing that has gone before compares with what is happening now, as the entire Earth, like a woman in the throes of labour, cries out as her contractions get ever more severe and closer together. 

These are indeed completely unprecedented times; world affairs have the unstoppable momentum of a runaway train, very shortly to career with its whistle screaming through the dark tunnel of the Tribulation, ultimately to smash headlong into the buffers at the end of the line: Armageddon.

FRIENDS, IT'S NEVER BEEN MORE IMPORTANT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHERE YOU STAND! IS IT ON THE ROCK? OR IS IT ON THE SAND? AS THE WORD OF GOD IMPLORES US ALL, "SEEK YE THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND, CALL YE UPON HIM WHILE HE IS NEAR." (ISAIAH 55:6)

VICTORY OUTREACH UK - AN ACCOUNT OF GRAVE CONCERNS SURROUNDING THE STAY AND RECENT DEATH OF A RESIDENT.

In that piece, I referred to the contact I'd received from the family of a gentleman who'd tragically recently died whilst in the care of VOUK. What follows below is the report that has since been compiled by Catherine Hampton, the late David Hampton's sister. Her account appears exactly as received, entirely in her own words and with her full permission to reproduce them here. As she says so poignantly, David does not have a voice now. But, in the grace of God, others can speak out for him in the name of truth and justice. And speak out we must, and will...

Hi my name is Catherine Hampton, I’m looking for any help or advice on what I can do on the circumstances regarding my brothers death.

David has always lived in Stevenston, he was a outgoing loveable young man who was leading a good life after leaving school to go onto college and receiving a diploma which led him to become a manager and leading his own team in a call centre, David was liked by everyone he met, David had his own car and life was good however he suffered mental health issues which led him down the wrong path of taking drugs, he seeked support through caley court and cpn workers, David was in and out of hospital as a result to this, he struggled with his drug addiction and mental health while living in Stevenston and with lack of rehabilitation centres David left stevenston for few months last year to stay with my brother and dad in Glasgow and self detox himself, however David was very vulnerable and asked a worker from caley court who is now not longer there to apply to a place Victory Outreach Uk Wales, it seemed to be quite promising as it offered, support, physically and mentally, offering every aspect to help vulnerable adults who suffer from drug and alcohol abuse including help from God. However this worker didn’t follow up as to what we now know was all lies, these people haven’t been following the right protocol of care and services that adults seek. David seeked a gp and was under mental health while in wales. 

David wasn’t allowed a phone or contact home for a few weeks while there, but he seemed settled and okay at first until Covid and lockdown down began, residents started to leave which left only a couple of people. They made them work long hours everyday and although receiving a large amount of housing benefit Davids other benefits were handed over to them and they gave David £12 a fortnight to see him through, we as a family wasn’t happy and my mum posted some toiletries etc down to him. David phoned twice a week through a friend who had sneaked a mobile phone in and last few conversations David seemed very unhappy he told us there food supplies from charities were running low, they were doing nothing to pass time, my mum & dad told him to come home but travel restrictions were in place and wasn’t possible. Into July when restrictions eased David called to say he received backdated PIP from dwp and was concerned that they would take his money that’s when David and my parents thought it was time to come home and start a fresh with the help of this money.. Few days later the last we heard from David was Wednesday 29th July, David had phoned my mum complaining of being very unwell that he couldn’t stop being sick and my mum stressed to him to seek medical help or call an ambulance. Friday morning the hospital in Gwent phoned my mum to say David was took in Thursday and is in a critical condition and was in ICU. No word from VOUK to tell us David was really unwell and was away to hospital by ambulance on his own, the clothes he was wearing was his painting clothes that leaves us to believe David must have been working while unwell. Distraught my mum travelled over 4 hrs to be told she will not be allowed in and to go back home to Scotland. Saturday morning next phone call was to say David was in coma and we might not make it down, Obviously distraught and very angry I raised my concerns to the hospital after my mum travelling all that way to be told David could die. Halfway down another phone call to say David was getting air lifted to Queen Elizabeth Birmingham as they managed to stabilise him. We got there spoke with consultant in ICU to be now told David has swelling of the brain and next 24hrs were critical. We stayed over and on Sunday 2nd August Davids machine was turned off with my mum & dad beside him. I was heartbroken and distraught I wasn’t allowed to say my goodbyes. 

David died with severe brain damage & liver failure due to a accidental overdose. There is a ongoing inquest investigation as to why David had this in his system through being in a rehabilitation centre and in the care of VOUK. No one would speak to us from there until my sister and brother in law managed to track them on their twitter account to phone my mum which to they replied David passed away and my mum was seeking support through the manager. My sister was furious with their behaviour of the lies from this so called pastor and they denied sending that text to which my sister had told them she had saved there text, they then back tracked to say it was a unintentional lie and that the manager has went missing. 

We haven’t spoken to them since as they have blocked my sister from any contact and numerous times we tried to phone but wasn’t getting answered. We also are speaking with the friend that David made who informed us the manager left and never came back that they were advertising for a new manager, he stated that there was only 2 residents left and he hated the place, he also said he was receiving £12 a fortnight and had no money to go elsewhere, he said it was like a hostel. Also that David was really ill and he had pressured the manager to actually phone a ambulance for David but obviously too late. He also told my oldest brother that all medicine was never locked away signed for or monitored. He added that David caught the manager taking drugs. We questioned Davids money as just over £1500 had been lifted each day 5 days prior to davids death from different ATM machines as far as 36mins drive away and nothing has been accounted for. Davids bank statements that we have reports about £2000 spent over 20 days. He told us David didn’t buy anything at all and was keeping his money to come home. I’ve phoned police, who weren’t very helpful about davids money as lack of proof, I’ve tried every person I can think of, I’m now talking with care commission who have raised concerns to local authorities, I’ve spoke with ex residents, who have stated these people are fake liars, steal money, treat them like slaves, use god as a cover up. Pastor Andrew Parson & co live high luxury lifestyles of fancy cars, holidays and big houses but yet are a charity who portray to have nothing, but yet have all residents money. 

We as a family have been treated terrible from this place who we thought were liget that David would be safe. My sister and I are trying to do everything we can to raise our concerns and at least our questions be answered. David has been let down not only from them but the system. I also advised caley court do not send anyone else down there, to which they replied they had never heard of this place. I would be very grateful of any help or advice you could give.  

Sorry for the long report but I need to tell his story as David doesn’t have a voice now. This should never have happened to David, 39years of age who had a lot of years to look forward to.

In these crazy, crazy times which we now find ourselves living, where and who are we looking to for help to see us safely through? Friends, are you trusting in man and the things of man, or are you holding fast to God and the things of God? Do you cling to the Word which is life eternal, or to the world which is about to crash and burn horribly? These are questions of the most fundamental importance! As it is indelibly written, "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD." (Jeremiah 17:5). There is but One solid Rock, all else is utterly unstable sand, and the tide is coming in so, so fast.

Are you trusting to "science falsely so called" which the Apostle Paul urged Timothy to avoid? (1 Tim. 6:20). Is your hope in a vaccine, which if or when it comes will certainly be insufficiently tested for its safeness, its long-term effects completely unknown, and potentially cause more harm than good? A vaccine which would in all likelihood involve some form of "immunity passport," without which someone would not be allowed any freedom of movement, and be denied access to places of work, shops or health services, etc.? This would in effect be the direct precursor to the implementation of the mark of the beast itself, without which no-one may buy or sell. And in tandem with the massive push globally for a vaccine, runs the drive to phase out hard currency and replace it - eventually completely - with card transactions and cryptocurrency. It's all about having control over every aspect of people's lives. 

Social conditioning for what is to come is well under way. Enforced mask-wearing is all part of this prepping of the populace to unquestioningly comply with governmental directives and conform to "the new normal," and is in itself a notable forerunner of the soon coming mark, which will be hyped to a grateful, completely duped public as being for their own good, their health and safety and that of everyone else - and with similar success! Satan has ever been the subtlest beast of the field. Under the guise of what is in all our best interests, basic human rights are rapidly counting for nothing, and are being removed almost completely unchallenged; totalitarianism such as is hitherto unknown in the West is coming about and being meekly accepted - even welcomed! - at breathtaking speed. The writing is on the wall, but who can, or will, read it? We who believe have to cleave to the Lord, depend on His strength and mercies, and trust to His promises as never before. The hour is late, I think much later than we might dare to consider.

And where is the Church in all this, we have to ask? Well, to all intents and purposes it's capitulating without question or pause to secular demands and expectations; what was already a mostly apostate body is just becoming increasingly so, as it swallows hook line and sinker the official narrative concerning COVID-19. The Church which has so very largely replaced Biblical Truth and objectivity with fleshly, experiential lies and subjectivity - whereby "truth" is held to be whatever you want it to be, and if it feels good then it is good - is not standing apart from the world and warning it of the Great Tribulation to come, but is completely in step with the world and its God-rejecting ways. The Church has now made itself not answerable to and faithful to God, but answerable to and faithful to the secular State alone.

This is a time of separation; the sheep will go one way and the goats will go another; institutional Christianity, if we might call it that, is now essentially all but dead in the water. I've long believed that it will be at the end as it was at the beginning, an underground Church meeting in each other's homes, in Spirit and in Truth; it will comprise of that Remnant of faithful believers who have not bowed the knee to Baal, and have come out of Babylonian structured religiosity as Scripture commands. (Revelation 18:4). Their declaration and their determination will be:

"As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

(Joshua 24:15)

Jesus told us that when we began to see the onset of the things that He told us to watch for, to look up, and lift up our heads, for our redemption was drawing near. (Luke 21:28). In my humble opinion, we are well past the beginning of such things, and the signs of the times are getting ever more severe and closer together.

'VICTORY OUTREACH UK' - MATTERS OF MONEY AND MORALITY.

"For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed;

neither hid, that shall not be known."

That there are pertinent and indeed most serious questions to be asked of the 'Victory Outreach UK' organization based in Abertillery, Blaenau Gwent, Wales, and the regime that runs it, has been the case for several years now. Concerns have not diminished with the passage of time; if anything they have only intensified.

Two completely independent communications received by myself in recent weeks have served to trigger the publishing of this article. The first contact prompted me to look afresh at Victory Outreach UK's accounts, and make the notes and observations that appear below. The second contact was disturbing in the extreme, referencing the very recent death of a resident; this decided me that unanswered questions about this charity's operations most urgently need to be posed, and just some of these - focusing upon VOUK's finances - are openly given voice to here.


THE 'VICTORY OUTREACH UK' ACCOUNTS

To quote from the accounts, under the heading 'Objectives and activities' -

The objects of the charity, as contained in the Declaration of The Trust, are:
To provide a secure Christian home for ex-offenders and those excluded by social disadvantage.
To offer rehabilitation.
To offer holistic treatment through both practical and spiritual programmes.
To help prepare clients back into society.
To alleviate poverty.

Its charitable status requires that a Board of Trustees is charged with responsibility for the maintenance and integrity of the charity, any financial information appearing on its website, and preparing the Trustees Report and financial statements that are submitted to the Charity Commission and duly published by them and available for public scrutiny. The Trustees appoint the Director, but responsibility for all appointments (and attendant salaries) below this position is delegated to that Director, who is one Andrew Parsons. This is more than interesting, as it means that Mr. Parsons can appoint someone of his exclusive choosing to a salaried position in the Charity, and can determine their wage for doing that job. As it happens, his wife Susan is on that payroll as Victory Outreach UK's Finance Manager no less, one of only four people named on the most recent annual accounts as Key Management Personnel. The other three are Mr. Parsons himself, naturally, Mr. Lee Garland the General Manager and Mr. Robert Hart, who we'll come back to shortly. 

Now, VOUK is a Christian organization, run by honest Christians for honest Christian purposes is it not? So we may safely assume, may we not, that all is totally above board and there's nothing untoward going on in the way of - perish the thought! - worldly things like nepotism and playing the system that one is a very powerful part of for personal advancement and gain. No, of course there's not. God-fearing Christians just wouldn't do such things, now would they? Curious though, that of their four highlighted risks to the charity, one of their fears is of all things litigation! How could any such worthy institution possibly be at risk of being sued? How could those worthy individuals who run it worry that "objectors to the work of the charity can involve litigation from a number of sources and can impact the charity's work and finance." Money could only be lost, of course, if any legal challenge was upheld in the Courts, but there can't be any real risk of such an unthinkable thing happening, can there now! Can there? What grounds could there ever possibly be for a lawsuit, and a successful one at that? Yes, quite unthinkable!

Are there real financial concerns? How healthy are the finances of VOUK, we might well ask. Is the charity stumbling along on the verge of collapse? Breaking even? Well, actually it's doing rather well, as we'll see if we look at the latest accounts, one might even say very well indeed considering its dependence upon the benefits contributions of the homes' residents. Income was over half a million pounds, with an expenditure of only 73% of that sum, the surplus 27% of that being "retained for future use." This operating surplus allowed the "free reserves" - these being monies not ring-fenced for anything - to swell to no less than £242,856. The reason for having such reserves is explained as allowing the charity to continue its current activities in the event of a significant drop in funding. Of course the cynic might suggest that having nearly a quarter of a million tucked away to one side would rather comfortably safeguard the positions and salaries of the key management personnel given a downward spiral in income. But we must bear in mind that their Christian ethics would always cause them to put the residents' interests first...

What sort of salaries are we talking about, anyway? Well, the accounts inform us that  the total amount paid to the charity's key management personnel for that financial year was £127,319 (a figure including costs relating to external staff fees, whatever that might mean). The only key management personnel as noted above are Mr. and Mrs. Parsons, Mr. Garland and Mr. Hart; the last named is Chair of the Board of Trustees and receives no payment for this role. Individual salaries are not listed, though interestingly the statement is made that "there were no employees whose annual remuneration was £60,000 or more." With the ceiling thus being set at this figure, obviously the Director cannot be earning more than £59,999 per annum (a few pence shy of five grand a month), but no-one knows the exact amount, apart from a tiny number of people at the top of the tree and presumably the Inland Revenue. With their actual remuneration not being a matter of public record, all we can reasonably deduce from the supplied figures is that Mr. and Mrs. Parsons are in no way being expected to be taking home the minimum wage, but - being the good Christian overseers that they are - are being well blessed and prospering as a couple for their services to a charity whose stated objectives includes "to alleviate poverty." (Prospering enough, apparently, to reportedly run a Porsche and a BMW; no doubt such little things as these help alleviate the stresses of working to improve the lives of some of the most struggling members of society, whose State benefits very largely go towards the unpublicized salaries of the key management personnel).

Trustees of VOUK currently number just three, the least amount allowed. These are Mr. Robert Hart (Chair), Mr. David Ceriboto and Mr. John Williams, the last-named only serving from 19/9/18, some halfway through the last documented financial year. No Trustee receives payment for their acting in that capacity, but as the official records clearly show, a Trustee can receive payment for other services provided to the Charity. This proviso certainly applies in the case of the Chair, Mr. Hart, who between 2014 and 2018 received over £70,000 in "consultancy fees!" Oddly enough, after his obviously extremely important consultations, valued at £15,000+ (averaging £1,250+ a month) for each of the 4 successive years 2014-2017 (dropping to a mere £9,006 in 2018), he was not apparently required to be consulted at all during 2019 as his payments were entered as nil! Must be some good reason for that, naturally.

Another interesting note that raises a little eyebrow can be found in the 2019 accounts appertaining to the Trusteeship. That year, the charity advanced a loan of £2,000 (at 15% interest) to Mr. David Ceriboto. Since when, the cynic might ask, do the aims of the charity include providing personal loans to members of the Board, loans authorized by that same Board? No reasons are given... Ah, but perhaps it was to alleviate poverty?

For no obvious reason, this quirky little poem I'd written a good many years ago now, popped into my head. I'd been waiting for a "prompt" as to what I should put out next on the blog, and this somehow seemed to be it. Didn't make any sense at first as to what possible purpose some humorous ode might have in trying to wake people up to reality, which is what this site has always been all about. But then the context in which it was to be presented dawned, and it made perfect sense - well, to me at least! I can only hope that what follows makes similar sense to you too, my friends...
